Good-bye to Sibylle L. Reithel, who once played chess at the Community Chess Club of Rochester in the late 1970's, at the time I joined. She played then as Sibylle Uslu, presumably her maiden name. She met Don Reithel, a very strong local player, at the club and they married. Sibylle passed away on August 25.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know her well but I have thought of her often over the years, wondering what became of her. She spoke with a bit of an East or Central European accent which was quite attractive, and as you can see from the picture at the blog she was a beautiful woman. I believe she told me she was from East Germany.
