Oct 3 - The Dr. Farley Memorial Monday Night Fall Chess League begins.  The league runs for 10 weeks on Monday nights. Teams are forming.  Sign-up at the Chess Center. Time Control: G/90d5; Call 585-442-2430 for Info.  Register by 6:30pm 10/3/22.

Nov. 9th: CCCR's Awards Night.  The Championship Awards Ceremony will start at 7:30pm and will be followed by the serving of a celebration cake and beverages.  USCF-rated games will follow.

Nov 16 - Clif Kharroubi Chess Lecture at 5:30pm, followed rated games at 7:30pm.  Topic: Opening Explosions! There will be pizza & beverages at 5:00pm!  Sign up at the Chess Center. Sponsored by the Community Chess Club of Rochester.  Free for CCCR members; $5 for non-members.  All are welcome!  5pm-5:30pm: Free pizza & Beverages.  5:30-6:30pm: Lecture (Introduction, Presentation, Q&A, Closing notes).  6:30pm: Registration for CCCR G/80d5 games (optional, following lecture). The lecture will be video recorded.  Sign up at the Chess Center.  Flyer will be available in October.

Dec 21 - CCCR's Annual Holiday Party with USCF-Rated Games.  Pizza will be provided.  Players can bring a treat to share (optional).

July 13 - Chess Center's Annual Picnic at Mendon Ponds Park, East Lodge.  Lodge is open at 1pm.  Grill fires stoked at 5:30. We hope to see you there!

Chess Simultaneous

Aug 17 - Annual CCCR Chess Simultaneous. Simultaneous is at 7:30pm.  There will be pizza & beverages at 6:30pm!  Prizes!  Sign-up at the chess center.  Check out this flyer. 

Update: Congratulations to CCCR Club Champion David Phelps for 11 Wins, 4 Draws and 2 Losses in a field of 17 opponents. There were many exciting games to watch.  Congratulations to the two players who scored Wins: Jacob Snell and Jim Attaya! Congratulations to the players who scored draws: Dominic Shand, David B. CarrVinnie Basile and Joshua Stevens!  OK, you had to have ENDURANCE to survive the marathon chess simultaneous this year... it started at 7:30pm and the last game with Joshua Stevens finished at 11:30pm! It certainly paid off for Joshua Stevens after the 4-hour mark as Joshua once again showed why his is known as the Draw Master! Thanks to everyone who participated to help make this a great night of chess to remember!  Those who won their games against the Club Champion received prizes of super-sized magnetic analysis boards.  Those who drew received new hardcover scorebooks.

The 2022 CCCR Club Championship is in October.  Whoever wins the championship will be next year's chess player to Simultaneously play the field mid-year in 2023!  Become a CCCR Member, get 10 USCF-rated games played with the club to qualify in the Championship.
